Why would someone sell their ticket on ebay and not through the AFA with a big waiting list?

Hi Logic
The seller probably isnt aware that there is a waiting list ... I wonder how many others have tickets they cant use and arent sure how to get rid of them ...

Also couldn't it sell for a lot more on ebay? I was academically thinking about how much I would sell my ticket for the other day. Couldn't decide on a price, but it would have to be in the thousands :P

I agree Jeremy. Given the waiting list and general panic seen from those who have missed out, I reckon that bloke will sell his ticket for quite a bit more than he paid for it.
I couldn't imagine letting mine go though. It would have to be something extraordinary to keep me away :D

I just spoke with the guy who sold his ticket on ebay.
Lovely person may I add.
He felt bad about selling it auction style but he is going to the USA and needed the money. He is tornado chasing and is driving through a few states. Wait there is more...he has bought a Delorian and will bring it back with him to Australia!
Anyway he sold the ticket for $530.00.
Far out hey!

OMDOG!! That's amazing but then again, just goes to show how sought-after these tickets are.
I have never been so pleased in my life that I got in early for something. I'm usually a bit of a ditherer but not this time! :D
I wonder if Hooa ended up getting a ticket?

First, I have absolutely no objections to him selling his ticket on ebay for a profit.
But, the story that he had to sell it auction style because he 'needed the money', but he can afford to go to the US tornado chasing, buy a Delorian, and import it back to Australia just doesn't add up.

I'm closing this thread now as the eBay ticket has been sold.
Speculation on the seller can continue elsewhere if people are so inclined :)
