Winner of the 1985 Oscar for Best Documentary, this film tells the story of Harvey Milk, the member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, and San Francisco Mayor George Moscone who were assassinated by Supervisor Dan White on November 27, 1978. It documents Milk's life leading up to his election, his successful efforts to politically represent San Francisco's gay community, and the city's reaction to the assassinations, including extensive news film and personal recollections.

wicked Lee! thanks for the heads up on that, gonna definitely watch it. I am not sure, but i think I have seen it years ago, but hazy on that .. will be an intriguing watch I think.

What's the book about? I can only find reference to cookbooks on google :)
Harvey Milk was a great doco, really enjoyed it, so sad in the end :(
PS: oh I have been lax in vegan over the past year :| .. well I haven't been fussy is all with refusing foods or avoiding eating just as something has dairy. Maybe that's why my belly is getting bigger, either that or AGE .. (getting old you see ;)

There's also a movie out now about this guy. Somehow the title "milk" just doesn't seem quite right :D

Popcorn by Ben Elton.
Really good book. The guy is brilliant.

ahh yea I have read a few of Ben Eltons books, and a fan of his comedy!
