Hi all. I just signed up to the forum and will also be going to each day of the convention.

Is there anything on the grapevine about protesters planning to picket the event? I can't imagine Catch the Fire and friends would pass up an opportunity to harangue so many sinners at once.

I understand that the Melbourne Anonymous group will be protesting there, however their target is Scientology and basically they're on our side :)

Why would they protest at an atheist convention if the target is $cientology?

We managed to get 250 signatures supporting an official government investigation into scientology. If that isn't win, I don't know what is.

I guess they want to reach out to the like-minded and get a few signatures.

Yeah, I asked them the same thing. Still, doing something is better than doing nothing I guess.

Perhaps Kenji (as our resident MelbAnon member) can clarify for us? :)

I may have been an anon, but of course claiming that would be not anon, so I maybe perhaps probably haven't.

I'd be very surprised to see Guy Fawkes at the GAC. Anon mocks atheism (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Atheist), of course, but doesn't revile it.

Well, I can only go by what they told me in the Bourke Street mall a month or so back, Sancho. They say they'll be there :)
