my mate used to be quite religious and he and i had many pleasant conversations about the topic of religion. This is a note from his facebook site. (i am the freind that he refers to):
"I have walked a dark and lonely path in seek of treasures beyond measure. In the darkness I hoped for a light to shine my way as I continued my search for these divine riches blindly. Days, weeks, months passed and still I searched in the dark.
The light I hoped for could not be found and there came a time when I questioned myself why would anyone look for anything without sight of what's in front of them. The answer was a simple one, something a friend once told me, i had blind faith. I believed in something that i had never seen before, didn't know if it existed and i had looked for it in the dark. Stupid now that i come to think of it, but it wasn't so stupid when i was told that i could obtain some hidden treasure that would make me rich beyond comprehension.
Sometimes in darkness we see the light"
Im not one of those people that gets in religous peoples faces but through our conversations i helped my friend free himself of the opression of faith.
Just felt like sharing this little story with everyone =)
