Anybody familiar with this "science"? I only came across it recently when a friend of mine - who I always thought was rather scientific - insisted that there is mounting evidence that miracles are real and prayer works.

My research so far has turned up a typical pseudoscientific mob that doesn't like sharing their research with the world. It's staffed by the typical suspects too and, oddly, a heap of business people... Sound familiar?

Wrote a couple of blogs about them if you're interested, too:

Noetics is misleading

Noetic Science: What is it and is it scientific? (http://nihilistology.wordpress.com/2009/12/23/noetic-science-what-is-it-and-is-it-scientific/)

I'd love to hear what others know about it.

Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noetic_theory) - wacky woo!

(I've been longing to do that one!)

Off topic, but I immediately associated that phrase with the Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band, and felt compelled to figure out why? It didn't take long to determine that it's a line from their rendition of the 1928 Warren/Dixon song, Nagasaki, viz:Hot ginger and dynamite
There's nothing but that at night.
Back in Nagasaki where the fellers chew tobaccy
And the women wicky wacky woo.
