What is the status of Saturday dinner tickets? I'm still on the fence on that one.

There are still tickets left!

It should be an awesome night with awesome entertainment. Simon Taylor an Illusionist (yay!!), NonStampCollector from Youtube with some great cartoons, Craig Reucassel and Julian Morrow from The Chaser.

I like the idea of a social setting such as this, a great way to mix it up with others in the community.

I plan on buying a sunday only ticket next week, hopefully there will still be some left - if not I'll look forward to reading about it.

Levering human minds from religion could well be the greatest scientific/philosophical contribution to man kind.

You might want to be quick about making a decision. As from what I can tell the Sunday ones are all that are left.

There are still Sunday tickets left - I wouldn't say 'plenty' but a reasonable number.

However, I wouldn't delay your purchase too long as the Committee will start a new marketing campaign for these tickets next week and they are likely to sell out fast.

I plan on purchasing the ticket on the 11th of this month. If I'm too late it wont be the end of the world.

Do we have some figures on how may tickets were available, how may tickets sold, gender & location breakdown? I like stats. :)

I don't know about that. I worked night shift over FSMmas, so learned from a 5am televangelist that all the signs are pointing towards an imminent rapture...

Congrats to all involved on the successful sold-out status for weekend passes. It's heartening to hear there are so many passionate thinkers out there. I have a feeling this is just the beginning of something big...

Here's a question. I bought a Full Weekend Pass, but have since been accepted to go back to Uni. Am I eligible for the discounted concession rate?

As "Identification and entitlement to concession pricing must be demonstrated when you register at the convention, otherwise the difference between the concession rate and the full rate will be charged at that time."

Does this work the other way. :) (No harm in asking, lol.)

Amazing really, seeing that the references I have seen to this event in the real world are approaching but haven't yet reached zero.

Maybe you haven't been looking in the right places. ;-)

The event has been widely publicized and mentioned almost weekly in articles, opinion columns and letters in the Melbourne Age over the last few months. Another major article (http://www.theage.com.au/national/beyond-belief-20100109-m00z.html) about the Convention appears in today's Sunday Age.

News of the Convention has also appeared in the National Times, the Brisbane Times, WA Today, and the Sydney Morning Herald and a number of international publications.

1000 flyers on the Convention have been distributed. And advertisements have appeared in journals such as the New Scientist.

Also, members of the Committee have been interviewed frequently on radio programmes and podcasts, including Catherine Deveny's show on ABC radio and by the BBC London.

The Committee has been in contact with all of Australia's major freethought organizations and also organizations which may not be strictly 'atheist' but may have an interest in hearing speakers on science, philosophy, women's issues, etc.

The Convention also has a major presence on the internet, being mentioned on freethought (and some Christian) websites across the world. Google "Global Atheist Convention" Melbourne and you'll get over 26,000 results.

Oh terrific. She took nearly 100 shots and used the worst one :( (Joel looks fine of course)

Sorry folks, I promise I'll look better at the Convention *slinks away in embarrassment*
