Hi guys!

My name is Gul (not pronounced like Seagull...:p) I'm 21 and a Brit living in Perth (temporarily).

I found the link to this site through the Atheist group on meetup.com and thought it would be interesting!

I'm a pretty open-minded individual, but being raised in a Muslim family, I've had my share of arguments with irrational religious folk :D

I won't be in Australia much longer, perhaps another 8 or so months...but I'd love to get involved in the meantime!

OMG A POM!!!! RUN FOR IT!!!!!

*ahem*

Sorry, where was I?

Oh. Yes. Welcome to the Forum, Heartbomb. As an American almost completely unfamiliar with British names... how DO you pronounce Gul if not "seagull". Gil? If so does that mean Gulliver is actually Gilliver? ;)

It can be a bit of a mad house here (as noted in my opener), but we're a good bunch and there's some lively discussions going on. Hope you find your niche and welcome to it! :D

Hahaha, thanks for the welcome.

@ Fiery: Gul isn't a Pom name, it's Farsi ...and it's sort of pronounced like pull...if that makes sense.

Jeez I wish I had a normal name.

No you don't. 'David' how bloody boring. My brother is 'Peter'.

I reckon your name is awesome :)

Haha, I took no offence! I have an Aussie boyfriend and I get it from him all the time :D

Davo: I wish my name was something easy to pronounce though! I wouldn't mind a name like...I don't know...Aphrodite ..at least people can say it! :p

I corrected my new employer 10 times and she still pronounces it wrong :o
