I'm very excited to see the addition of Lynn Allison and Jane Caro as speakers (yes, I finally found out who Jane Caro is - courtesy of The Gruen Transfer - although I saw her name quite a while ago when I was a member of the Secular Party but had no idea who she was!). Also seriously thrilled to see Maggie Millar's name there, too!

She wouldn't remember me, but I met her when I was about 13 or 14 when she was involved in a group called Jigsaw that my mother was also an original member of, which was for adoptees seeking to find their biological families. The group were instrumental in changing the adoption laws in Victoria.

Anyway, Maggie was amazing - an actress to her core, she was always fabulously dynamic and engaging and I loved going to Jigsaw meetings just so I could see her.

Fantastic to learn that she's an atheist as well!

This is definitely shaping up as something seriously special :D

Leslie Cannold, Jane Caro, Lyn Allison and Tanya Levin are to participate in an all female panel discussion, chaired by Maggie Millar. It's nice to see such high profile, intelligent ladies toning down the testosterone level of the Convention just a tad. ;-)

Oh Dear, I'm going to get myself into strife with the literal minded here, but in my defense I am not the originator of this joke:

Paul McDERMOTT, MC of <Good News Week>, said:
"News reports that men - on average - lie up to 15 times every day;
Women lie - on average - only 3 times a day - but take 8hrs to say each one."

Don't worry Protium, I'll fight for your right to have a baby, even if you have to keep it in a box.

And I'll start calling you Loretta too.
