OK - I think I have at least one question for the Christians here.
If Jesus was the son of God then why didn't Jesus be the first man on Earth according to your Bible? Why was Adam the first man on Earth and not Jesus - Surely God would think of "creating" his own son first?
I can't think of other questions at the moment but I guess that's for new threads.

Isn't that part of what the Mormons teach?

And we have even more evidence of just how 'peaceful' and 'loving' they really are. :D
Man accused of blasphemy killed in prison- http://www.asianews.it/index.php?l=en&art=16328&size=A

You know, religion should just flat out me made against the law or something. I feel bead for the poor children that are brought up this way.

It sure as hell should be against the law. But unfortunately there are way too many idiots on this planet for that to happen.

It's not just the idiots, Mr Croc: if you find what Ms Cow has to say about Blackwater, on the Dominionism thread, you may recognise signs of malign intelligence.

Jeebus has his mob with pitchforks, but he has Jesuits, CEOs of powerful corporates, and presidential advisers, too.Yes. These people actually know that many people are idiots. They are smart enough to exploit them - and quite frankly it is fairly easy if you can get people to trust them.

Religion is a way that this is present.

I don't want to be pedantic but isn't it 'Jeebus'

My opinion is you gotta really emphasise the 'eeeeee' part for full effect!!

'But I don't even believe in Jeebus!' ;)

If I added the correct number of 'e's I don't think the admins or mods would like that - it would occupy too much space ;)

The “technical” response is that Adam was the first man, while Jesus isn’t a man, he is a god and/or is god in the trinity sense. The creation story has continual references to “us”, so it could be argues that Jesus was already created and/or has always existed…but I bet most Christians haven’t thought about it this much and wouldn’t be able to answer your question, the real question is why the hell am I giving them an answer by which to enforce their conviction in god??? That’s why I’m going to stop now…

Ah, bestiality. So then how come Jesus was born from Virgin Mary? If Jesus isn't a man then surely there was a certain orang-utan in the sky that thought that Virgin Mary was hot right?

I think it was god disguised as a white bull…but do you really want me to give the Christian argument to this??

Option One: The Jesus birth as a miracle didn’t happen, it’s a myth that came about after his birth as happens many times, first somebody becomes famous then the stories regarding their birth, or signs or whatever come about.

Option two: Jesus had always existed as a part of god in the trinity, but in coming to earth as a human, he had to be born here, the holy spirit, the third part of the trinity impregnated Mary, so she could conceive Jesus. You have to keep in mind that Jesus was god in human form, he could feel pain corporally as any human dose, but spiritually he was god come down to die for our sins.

Option three: its all crap and people just change the story or read into it whatever suits them to justify their faith without having to use reason or think to hard.
