View Full Version : Concern!

Hello All
You might recall that I have only recently joined this forum, although I have been a member of AFA for some years. I am thoroughly enjoying the subject matter of the various areas of the forum and have joined in the discussions a couple of times.

I am concerned though, because it seems that every time I access the AFA Forums and either view or make comment on one of the treads, an automatic message is sent to my email address advising me of the fact. This, surely, shouldn't happen!

Does anyone have any clues as to how to remedy this situation? Because I certainly don't want to post on the forum if every time I do so my email 'clog-up' is added to.

I am assuming that the problem lies at the administration end rather than at my end because this does not occur with other forums that I belong to.

Many thanks

Lee

Hi David,

You need to go into User CP and scroll down to Settings and Options.
Then bingo you can choose Do not subscribe.

When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads (http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/subscription.php), with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread. In User CP, you go to edit options and under the 2nd box called Default Thread Subscription Mode just select No email notification. :)

It took me some time to figure this out but the threads with a tick next to them are ones which you have subscribed to. On the top of the thread go to Thread tools and then click Unsubscribe from this thread and you will no longer receive notifications for new posts for that thread.
