Hello,

Have been reluctant to join but found the site fascinating, thought provoking with a humorous side. I guess I was reluctant having only just being "cleansed of the meme virus" just under 2 years ago, and not wanting to be pidgeon-holed again or in yet another group of another kind of idea. I can, however, live with the site's description of atheism. I definitely no longer believe in a sky fairy....and yes, it was rather like finding out Santa & the tooth fairy were just made up as a child at first but I'm out and loving a new sense of self and have now been set free. I had that guilt thing down to a fine art! Hoping AA (Atheists Anonymous) can lead me further down this road which, from what I can see and have already experienced here, will no doubt come to fruition.

I was a 3rd generation fundamentalist who was initially raised in the largest AOG church in Adelaide - I think Hillsongs little cousin or little sister or something incestuous like that. I won't go into the nitty gritty here but happy to post more of a coming out story under the appropriate forum topic.

By the way, although I've always held some level of logical thought process it is something I'm working on....I am a work in progress.....a learner if you will but I'm a quick learner so I hope it won't be too tedious for you.

See you in the forums. :)

From a Goat to a Cow, welcome.

Oh, and watch out for that bible. I just read a passage in Genesis 9 that would make communion unlawful!

Ah yes, the lifeblood. I'm sure it wouldn't take much effort to find something of a contradictory nature to that effect and we'll be smitten for not partaking. Damned if you do, damned if you don't I often found....I'm gambling it all on damned if you don't.....it's a safe bet me thinks not to mention I was going to be eternally bored shitless going to Heaven with a lot of what I came into contact with anyway.

Thanks for your welcome everyone.

I think I know that Church...It used to be on North East Road but moved from there in the 1980's. I remember the sign on the old church: WE'RE GOING TO PARADISE

[For those who don't live there, the city of churches also has a suburb named "Paradise"]

Welcome. Hopefully you'll find little 'pigeon holing' here. We leave the judging to more christian folk. Smiting on the other hand...

Yes, I was there before they moved to Paradise also.....and by the way...it was false advertising...it turned out to be hell!

Oh good grief, I've been to this church a few times. My condolences.
