After a day of vaunting their godly prowess, preparing to assemble their powers against demons who might dare to threaten them, the gods settled in for the night. As darkness drifted over the landscape like some demonic mist, it actually found most of the mighty gods trying to hide or setting up signs saying "Dear demons, gods are over thataway". With them all trying to hide in the same place there were quite a few arses hanging out in the breeze.

Then dawn came, somewhat kitschily.

http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1921&stc=1&d=1339800976

Sheepishly stumbling into the light, the gods found Dionysus still sleeping off his usual wine and extra celebrations. Pikkiwoki The Short playfully dropped a coconut on him but he did not stir. Ganesha leaned over Dionysus and rose to the other gods. "His life force has been spirited away," he said, "I told you this was a bad beginning."

Priapus thoughtfully stroked his long beard. "Demons" he said. He has been rendered transcendental and will be back no more.

Janus saw behind him a piece of paper. It looked as though Dionysus had been planning to write something he had discovered but there were no markings.

Dionysus may make an uninformative farewell.

Today, you must sacrifice one of your number in revenge, because gods like that sort of thing.

Day powers will be available a little later in the morning, although they are not exercisable before the end of the day.

As the gods talk in Council about vengeance, Hermes suggests a new election for Top God now that Dionysus is Defunct. Janus nearly made it last time so thinks he should just be made Top God anyway. Poseidon suggests Janus sit on his trident and twist. They turn back to considering whom to sacrifice, while the Hounds of Hell help to recycle Dionysus' no longer useful bones.

The council recognises that this is the state of affairs:

This is a prime spreadsheet entry (http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/showpost.php?p=308516&postcount=91).

I got the special power of Doctor last night and protected myself.. thinking the old KILL THE MODS meme was still active. Come to think of it that would have finished up the last game quicker.

Interesting. I too got the special power of Doctor last night and also protected myself (as I wanted to make sure I didn't get grubered). Pray tell, how did Pikkiwokki end up with the same powers as me? After all, you are some Poe god, not a real one like me.

I call scum.

So, as I mentioned in the day 1 thread, this is exactly the sort of thing that we're to look out for. Either Protes or LBA is likely to be scum, as BOTH can't have the same power if my reading of the rules is right.

But which one, which one...

Gods, please read the following and apply a more godly understanding to my machinations:Choosing powers
Being gods, you can have any power you like from lists which may be public, in PM or a combination of the two. ... The catch, though, is that all of the magic in the world ain’t what it used to be. The more gods request a particular power, the less likely any given god is to get it, yet it may be that more than one god or even none gets the power for lots will be cast over each god requesting, in a manner which is equitable between people but otherwise known only to a mysterious timeless force called the Game Moderator.
It is possible for more than one god to hold the same power, but the more gods request the identical power, the more likely that zero of them will get it, which is close to what happened with everyone madly asking to protect themselves last night.

It is typically godly injustice that one of the very few to go investigating, your common or garden-type, everyday, average god Dionysus, was the one to kark it.

Day Powers

These are the powers available today, and they may be chosen by anyone. Use them with discretion.
Inspector
Lie Detector
Seer

The target, and referenced statement in the case of Lie Detector, must be provided to me no later than 8.30 PM today. Your answer (if any) will be given after 9.00 PM, so neither will influence today’s lynch.

For definitions of powers please read here (http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/showpost.php?p=308170&postcount=1). Check, for example, what sorts of statements are permitted to be queried by a Lie Detector. I have restated the caveats on obtaining powers in a post shortly above.

I so totally need to pay more attention to things. I never stated clearly if I was going to protect Protium or myself, so I assume that not only did I miss out on voting for top god, but wasted a power as well :)

Is this how I request the detective power?
This is how you publicise that you are a person who says that they are requesting a detective power. There are two on public offer, Seer and Inspector. The fine distinction between them is explained in my Day 1 OP (http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/showpost.php?p=308170&postcount=1). You may ask if it is unclear.

However, any actual request for a power will not be recorded unless and until you PM me.

Problem is if you make a claim someone is scum and they are, they run away to the little writeboard lair and plot your demise :(

I am suss on 2 players so far but need to see the voting pattern a touch longer.

What power did others choose yesterday?

I chose Doctor (offered to me via PM) and protected myself. Can't be to careful and didn't want to accidentally protect scum. :)

Nightfall.

16th June 2012, 06:59 PM
The gods gathered around Hades who tried to paddle across the Styx throwing epithets at his fellow gods. “Bloody xenophobes”, Hades yelled, “I offered you safe passage for pennies. If you don’t communicate more, you will all die!”

Having hauled Hades back, the gods realised they had no idea how to kill a god, but attracted by the possibility his name had been taken in vain, the GM ever-helpfully arrived.

“Hades, meet Medusa.”

http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1922&stc=1&d=1339844733

Hades was an innocent god, sibling of Zeus himself.

A god among the watchers patted one of the mournful hounds of hell. Something was different.

Night powers will be released shortly after day powers have been evaluated and any results returned.

Lovely little bandwagon there right at the end.

So LBA was telling the truth and the 2nd claimant for her unsharable power, Protes, has been now exposed as telling porkies (with a lovely bit of flail about not understanding his power there at the end). I guess we have our lynch candidate for tomorrow.

Hope to be alive to participate in it. I'd like to poke someone with my trident.

As the town went to bury the seemingly rock-solid body of Hades, for a moment it appeared her almost stony lips moved, a dying breath. A nearby god caught a brief message, the result of something Hades had been investigating that day.

No other god noticed who it was or that the message had been passed.

Night powers

A plethora of powers for tonight.

Anyone can select from the following list.

Kamikaze
Inspector
Blocker
Redirector
Seer
Tracker
Watcher

The Kamikaze role lasts for a night and a day, i.e. until after the next lynch. If you select it you will not be able to select a day power tomorrow.

Please PM me your choice and target by 08.30 Sunday, AEST.

Other powers may be released by PM.

Have you poked yourself in your eyes with the trident.. There were several Doctor powers given out. (http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/showpost.php?p=308583&postcount=24)

I see your only game play at this stage is to make weak/incorrect assertions about your bandwagon target in the hope others will join you.

No. Several players requested doctor powers for themselves in self-defence, but as the rules and Xeno said, the more that requested them, the less that they were given out, hence all the arses hanging out in the breeze.

Xeno wrote

So with the multiple gods asking for protection, "very close to zero" got them. And yet you claim that "several were given out". I say 1 person got them (the now dead and proven innocent LBA) and your lying arse was one of the ones hanging out in the breeze. The reason you are claiming the same power is that you can't admit that you probably had your own unique demonic power which you of course wouldn't want to admit to publicly.

Nice try Protes, but you're going down today. I fully expect for Protes or his team mate(s) to whack me, but when I flip town, you know who to lynch today people.
