The story behind the "FILTHY MEXICAN ALCOHOL APPRECIATION FRATERNITY"

I have worked in a certain heavy industry for around 35 years. It was traditionaly government owned. I am choosing my words carefully because this is a forum in the public domain and I must not allow myself to be vulnerable to anything actionable.

My work place is in Victoria but the company which bought us out is from NSW.

The Victorian branch of this industry is hated by those in NSW because we will not simply DO AS WE ARE TOLD!!! If you want to have a dance, then you have to pay the band. It is manifestly simple.

So they regard us as Mexicans because we are south of the border, but moreover, we are the Mexican Filth because we sill not stand still and simply comply. That is/was their nickname for us..The Mexican Filth. So, we decided that rather than heap scorn upon such ridicule, we should embrace this title, hence we created the FILTHY MEXICAN ALCOHOL APPRECIATION FRATERNITY because apart from being the dirty blokes that we are....we are also very fond of a drink or two or thirty six!!! So I had the motiff created and it appears on our T shirts and we get together to drink, raise money for cancer charity and collectively hate this particular company which has destroyed a good job and a good industry.
