04-NINJA MAFIA ! Round 3 Game Thread.

Another dawn breaks over the village and nervous inhabitants poke their heads out of their huts to see what foul deeds may have been done during the night. With a great deal of apprehension, they head off down the ancient laneways of their village in search of more bodies.



Just outside the entrance to the Bonsai Garden, a prone figure lies in a large pool of blood. A brave villager flips the body over to reveal the dead eyes of Reddix staring back in shock. A large katana slash runs from her shoulder to her hip, and her intestines spill out like wriggling eels. A search of Reddix's body reveals that she wasn't carrying anything of use and that she was in fact, an Innocent Samurai cut down in her prime.



Further down the laneway, the villagers spy another body collapsed near the Koi Pond. After they rush over to investigate, those versed in martial arts recognise the sight of a large amount of duckweed floating in one of the smaller pools. Those familiar with the ninja practice of ukigusa-gakure know that this is done to conceal underwater movement. All eyes turn to the white corpse of Xeno and see the ninja poisoned dart sticking out from his throat, courtesy of the hidden blowdart from the Ninja who killed him. Xeno was also searched and found to not only be carrying nothing of importance, but that he also was another Innocent Samurai sent on to join the spirits in the afterlife.




Reddix and Xeno may now say a brief goodbye before joining the spirits in the afterlife and having no further contact with living players about the game.

Exploration Options


As an interesting side effect of players without powers being predominantly killed off, there are a lot of goodies to be found today. All players must choose one site to visit, at which you will be given a choice of 2 activities – but step carefully and select wisely, as there may be some unpleasant surprises in store and you only get one choice per day. The places open to visit today in the village are :-

* The Koi Pond
* The Bamboo Forest

There are 10 options in total for 9 remaining players.

When you arrive at your destination, you will be offered only 2 choices of things to do there. FYI, I am on a day off today, but have P&C duties and am volunteeering to coach a t-ball team at school, plus nursing a wife who has been sick for over a week. So, I will attempt to attend to your requests in a timely manner, but please forgive any delays - I may be vacuuming, etc.

In the event that an item, clue or other advantage is found at the location/activity, the recipient will be PM'd by me to inform them. If nothing is found, I'll still let you know so you don't burst an aneurysm in anticipation.

The first night I was given a katana and could have killed anyone I wanted. If I chose ninja, all good. If I chose innocent I started the day with 5 votes. I chose to do nothing as I wasnt sure of anyone but leaning LBA after some weird pm's.

As I am innocent, and have an investigation outstanding ATM I will be trusting Threat and Loubert. I would trust Bol but she is way too quick to jump on me.

I had the katana for one night and didn't use it. Last night I was given an ability to have someone watched and it came up trumps.

As per my post the same person killed twice. One ninja kill and maybe some special weapon that they found.

Once SC is dead, there will be only one ninja left. If my calculations are correct, that means the ninja kamikaze is no longer a threat. If it's SC, his death will activate me. If it's the other one, he can only take an extra town player down by dying himself, which would result in him losing.

If SC is the scum kamikaze, I would like to request bokken protection tonight from whoever found the sword. If he's not, my death won't matter.

I stupidly told him I had a protection stick after he said that AlohaChris and Threat were probably ninjas, that Rys and Loudbert were probably town, and that Bolero really WAS the Kamikazi. I didn't ask how he knew Bolero was an innocent and how he was so sure Bolero was a Kamikazi, but I trusted him ... STUPIDLY. He said he was going to start a campaign against me early on, because the votes always change. He is surprisingly brief in his DEMANDS on what to think and do, but it seemed fair enough as I got nothing here. He said this would reveal the ninjas voting pattern early and said he would tell me who to vote for tonight (like he did last night). Then he got killed and turned out to be innocent, so there goes my theory that he was a Ninja.

If you received a message from Wolty implicating me, perhaps you might like to re-read it and look for holes. I can't see any reason for an innocent to be so untrustworthy though, but one things for sure, he was either trying to get rid of me, or if I survived, kill whoever tries to kill me tonight. Now he's dead and can't re-vote for the lynching ... This game is creepy, there are still two ninjas, and I'm being dogpiled AND I HELPED IT ALONG!

Read the message trails. For SURE he has left holes unplugged in a plot this twisted. Post what he said please. Perhaps I can see the hole, or at least see the underhanded and sneaky trick he was pulling over EVERYONE.

With players in different time zone (e.g. AlohaChris) and players at work and perhaps unavailable, I won't be running a shortened round.

If we did hypothetically and the ninja(s) were made to respond with abbreviated night round requests, then some players may be able to monitor who else is on-line at the time and narrow down the suspect(s).

So for now at least, we'll leave the day formats as is and see how it plays out.

Plus, I haven't finished preparing the 4th day's scripts and graphics anyhow...

Well, the lynch mob was unanimous in their decision. After Wolty's detective work and subsequent claim that SC was the dual killer of Reddix and Xeno, the villagers descended upon Simonecuttlefish.



"Hey guys, I'm innocent. Really." said SC.



The lynch mob ignored this as they dragged SC towards the Swordsmith's workshop.



"The cheque's in the mail...I'll respect you in the morning..." tried SC in vain.



With grim determination, the lynch mob dragged the protesting SC towards the raging fire in the smith's oven.




"I did not have sex with that woman.... You bum doesn't look big in that Kimono....aarrrrggghhhhhhhhhhh..." cried SC as the lynch mob fed him into the hungry flames of the oven and burned him alive. As his clothes started disintegrating in the flames, the black outfit SC wore under his kimono became all too apparent, confirming everyone's suspicions that Simonecuttlefish was actually in fact, the Ninja Kamikaze.




The Innocent Kamikaze has now been activated and if lynched, shall take one of the people that voted for them into the afterlife. If they are killed at night, they will take their killer with them. And in a selfless gesture, the Kamikaze may nominate (via PM) to kill any player during a day round in a suicidal act of mutually assured destruction.





As the high fives and exaltations started dying down, one of the villagers asked, "Hey what's that burning with SC's body?". One by one, the villagers peered into the inferno to see what the mystery item could be.




"Fuck me" said one of the Samurai. "That's the Protection Bokken. We really could have used that you know."




But alas, the Protection Bokken, which was effective as a defensive weapon against Ninja, Vigilante and Ronin attacks, is now lost forever and the villagers are now defenceless against night time attacks from any source.


Simonecuttlefish may now say a sheepish goodbye before leaving the game and starting a new career in either politics, real estate or used car sales.

Answering my own question here.


I had a daytime investigation today and with it (and with a couple of others' agreement) I checked out Rhys. The shocker is that the person I thought, and others too, was the remaining ninja ISN'T. Rhys is innocent.

We still have to uncover the last ninja. Any information should be shared and quickly. Anyone who has a weapon should also come forward. If we do this right, we will win overnight. Lay it on the table folks.
