Good People,

Here is an interesting exercise in which some of you may wish to participate.

David

My name is Dr Paul Bain, from the School of Psychology, Murdoch University, Perth. I am the Chief Investigator on a program of research, funded by the Australian Research Council, into people’s ideas about religion and atheism in Australian society. In the stage of the research, we are interviewing people from a range of religious backgrounds, as well as those who do not subscribe to religion (atheists, agnostics, humanists), focusing on their views about what Australian society might be like in the future. This project has received ethics approval from the Murdoch University Human Research Ethics Committee.
We are very interested in hearing the views of atheists, and in this stage of the research we hope to interview 3-4 longstanding atheists, and 3-4 people who are relatively recent atheists, preferably within the Perth region. The interviews take about 30 minutes, and can be arranged at a place and time that suits you. Audio-recording is requested to ensure that we don’t misquote interviewees, and we are committed to protecting the confidentiality of all interviewees.
We are hoping you will be willing to participate in these interviews so that atheists can have their ideas and opinions voiced in this research. If you are interested in being interviewed, or just to find out more before you decide, please email Dr Paul Bain at p.bain@murdoch.edu.au, or phone on (08) 9350 7209.

Do you have to be in Perth or do they / are they doing interviews over Skype? If so I'd be happy to help. I guess I should probably ask that to him.

GB,

Have to be in Perth for the interview. A couple of other Eastern State Capitals may be involved later.

Hi All,

Paul thanks everyone and has advised that he has enough interviewees for the present. In later project stages, he will hope to contact people again through the AFA Forum to invite them to interviews or to complete an online survey.

Is there anything this Forum is incapable of achieving? :)
