01-Vanilla Town Day 4

[Bolero]

At first it looks like a lovely bright shiny new day with no deaths in Vanilla Town this morning. This is about to change…

Jogging down by the river, as is her wont every morning, Voltairine notices a strange-looking log floating in the shallows. As she moves closer, she realises that what she took for a log was the bloated body of a man dressed in a brown trenchcoat, wearing the remains of ill-fitting cement shoes. She screams, recognising the trenchcoat as belonging to a detective she knows.

Dilbadoon was the town detective.

Voltairine’s screams draw a crowd, who stand around gawking at the dead detective. Without warning, there is a rifle shot from the bridge, and gruber drops like a stone, fatally wounded. After the ensuing panic, no-one can quite remember which of you was not with the crowd when gruber was shot…

Now I'm confused... I was thinking how sure I was of Voltairine, mainly because of the fuss they made about the sniper - Why would someone want us focussed on the sniper and not the scum? But then I saw Loubert had also focussed on the sniper... and Loubert voted voltairine before... I come to the conclusion they can't both be scum... but Voltairine was 2nd in with the sniper stuff, so now I'm pretty sure again... sort of.

Can we safely say rogerB is not scum? It would be a weird move (to say the least) to give up Protium if RogerB was scum. RogerB's the only one of us I'm sure about.

I'll review all the evidence and let you know what I think... but I have seen that while I was away on my bender, the rest of you managed to lynch half the town. You're getting sucked in by someone. What I know now is that out of the 1st 4 people to post today, 1 being yourself (who I know is not scum) 2 others were obsessed with the sniper, instead of the scum! That sets off alarm bells in my mind.

Voltairine entered the game as a substitute, 2nd day. They then voted for Praxis, without explanation for a late change. Then they voted for you on day 3, against an overwhelming vote for Protium, who was scum. Together with today's posting about the sniper/vigilante whatever they are, Voltairine is the clear choice for me.

Some of LBA's posts & votes have been a bit suss and I've been watching them as well. But they were (well, I believe genuinely) surprised by Protium's alignment.
