A few days ago I made a choice to post a poll in a message board (exercise, diet and stuff) about which god you worship. I must admit I wanted to generate a bit of discussion. I listed a few gods such as Apollo, Ra, Wu Tang, and Jesus.
One bloke just made a post that I thought I'd share which is...quite unusual. Has anybody experienced this view before?
but THERE IS NO HELL. the teaching of hellfire is false. it was brought in by the church in the middle ages as scare mongering to make ppl follow them in fear of that.. its not bible doctrine. jesus talks of a fiery gehenna, that place was just outside of jerusalem and it was a rubbish tip., and they'd burn off rubbish there, he used it as an example.
and again. bible consistently talks of people living in the future on a paradise earth under gods rule. also only a very small number 144000 go to heaven. i myself have no heavenly desire, id like to be living on that paradise earth..
this is the most annoying thing about a lot of christian religions. NONE of them teach what the bible speaks of, its man made doctrine in effect, like the trinity, the bible is consistent in saying God and jesus are two seperate beings, the term father and son, you are not your dad, you have similar traits perhaps and the same genes of his but your two different individuals another misconception.. id say its similar in islam with misconceptions, the Quran is all about being peaceful, yet a few take it to the extreme and ruin it for the rest.
there is so much misinformation out there and its hard to get people to listen to or look for themselves what is taught. its like training... .So much wrong information,, and who is responsible? greedy ppl wanting to make a dollar sothey say anything,, doesnt help with the catholics being so rich. similar to me. lol .
he's big on the concept of creation and ID of animals and plants..but with humans it was made directly by god, if you know what I mean?
