I feel myself regressing back to childhood when the days stretched interminably, time seemingly halting its usual incessant passing, as I waited and waited to I wake on that long-yearned-for day, with sleep sometimes eluding me on that day's eve.

I ask myself: Is it the excitement that once dwelt within me living again? Or are the years playing one of their cruel games?

It's so hard to tell.
