I've been a member of the AFA and the Perth Atheists meetup for a while and I've just discovered this forum.

My family are all fundamentalist Christians and I've been a believer most of my life. But my passionate interest in science (esp. physics) eventually cured me of my faith.

I'm looking forward to some stimulating discussions with you guys

*shudders* a whole family of fundamentalist christians. Now there's an ugly thought.

Do they know of your.... disbelief? If so, and I'm guessing they do, how did they take it? My folks aren't fundies but they are believers and I haven't told them. (Did my subconscious just slip in a "yet"??????) So am wondering how that conversation went.
