We are very pleased to once again be in partnership with Readings, Melbourne’s pre-eminent independent bookshop since 1969. As the Official Bookseller of the 2012 Global Atheist Convention, Readings will be selling books by Convention presenters, as well as other related titles, at the Convention on Saturday 14 April and Sunday 15 April 2012.

“It was an absolute honour being the Official Bookseller’s at the 2010 Global Atheist Convention and we are thrilled to be involved again as a major partner in 2012.” said Readings Managing Director Mark Rubbo.

“We are looking forward to sharing the ideas of such a highly-acclaimed line-up of some of the world’s best writers and thinkers with the thousands of people attending the Convention, and value the important contribution such debate brings to our community.”

In the lead up to the 2012 Global Atheist Convention, Readings will also be running a series of blog posts by selected speakers. This kicked off today with Melbourne writer, commentator and activist Leslie Cannold (http://www.readings.com.au/news/the-book-of-rachael-and-2012-global-atheist-convention-feathering-the-same-nest).

Readings was awarded the Australian Independent Bookseller of the Year in 1998, 2001 and 2009 and Australian Chain Bookseller of the Year in 2006. Readings is also the Official Bookseller for the Melbourne Writers’ Festival.

Fantastic news! They did a splendid job at the last GAC, especially given the hustle and bustle of so many people there. Very friendly people too. :)

I was very excited when I received my Readings catalogue a month or so back which had the entire back page with an ad for the GAC and showing Readings as a major sponsor.

Great stuff:)

I like Readings, but not enough science books held there for my taste. :)

FYI, the link to the 2010 best selling list has a full stop at the end so doesn't work (404). Same on the GAC website.
