From Pharyngula:
"He gave a wonderful, fiery, eloquent acceptance speech, and then he took questions for almost an hour — and he was willing to go on longer and seemed grateful for an opportunity to talk to the public again. He was fierce, courageous, and well-spoken as always, and kept the audience awed and inspired the whole time.
I’m actually optimistic that we’ll see him again in Melbourne for the Global Atheist Convention."

I saw this too. Very good news. I hope he stays with us for as long as possible. He has many a contribution to make to the intellectual pool I'm sure.

Excellent news..I hope his remission lasts. The fight must be very tiring, but the cancer might have taken on more than it can handle! :)

My concern is that any talk by Hitch in Melbourne will be adversely affected by the 30 minute standing ovation and outpouring of love and respect he's likely to get from the audience...your's truly included.

THAT'S WHAT I SAY!!
*Hitch goes on stage*
*everyone cries and cheers*
*Hitch waves cheeky goodbye*
*we all go bananas* :D

As far as I am concerned, the Emperor may take his ovations seated. The man has clothes!

Indeed.
Although, it might actually be nice if we could hear the man talk.

This is great news for all of us.
I was quite disappointed and concerned about his non appearance at Think inc. the other month.
I would like to see him in good health and at top performance when i get the chance to see and hear him talk live.

It's excellent news, it was almost heartbreaking when he lost his voice for a while.

For selfish reasons, I would simply LOVE to see him make it to the GAC. For non selfish reasons, I'd simply love to see him well and free from pain for as long as possible.
The man has changed people's lives. And not just in the bullshit everyday "smile and make others smile too" way. In a fundamental "my life will NEVER be the same" way.

Hi. :D
This is great news. Hitchens and Dennett are the biggest drawcards for me, though I likely won't come.

I'm very sorry to hear that MoS - any particular reason why not? I was very much looking forward to catching up with you again. You can PM me if you like.
