It had to be done. ;)

However, it would be interesting to see who is in the international delegation of GAC 2012 attendees.

I know the delightful Lordpasternak (aka Heather) from Scotland will be attending again.

She's a young lady of impressive intellect who hangs out mostly at Rationalia AFAIK and I knew her well at the old RDF.

When she came in 2010, she told her dad that she was going to London for a long weekend. Then flew halfway round the world to us :D

Durro also has details of several other internationals who are coming.

Yes, half the Mods from Ratskep are coming to the GAC.

Darkchilde (Greece)
Reddix (Canada)
Hugh McB (Canada)
Kiore (South Sudan)
Starr (Canberra)
Me (Brisbane)
and possibly Spinozasgalt (Newcastle)
and maybe an outside chance of Mr Samsa (N.Z.)
and a distant hope is new kid on the block, Crocodile Gandhi (Canberra)

Ay, you!

Last I heard of Gold he was heading around NZ making websites for hostels in return for bed and board. Hope it went well. Hope he avoided Innes Backpackers on Stewart Island. No website for it in my searches, but that doesn't mean he didn't visit. Could be that the extreme creepiness precluded coding.

To reiterate my comment from the cheating thread, it's Gold, Gold, Gold for Australia.

Fantastic to see how many are coming from overseas. So exciting!

And of course there'll be others we won't even hear about or know. And not just overseas folk either. A lot of attendees last time had no connection with the forum or the AFA (indeed several times I was questioned by interested persons about 'this whole online world thing'). I remember being really surprised. I sort of assumed that most would have some connection to the atheist online world but it seems many of them had heard about it by other means.

Which, of course, is fantastic. And I expect there'll be a lot more this time, with more publicity and word-of-mouth from last year :)

I'm still seeing if he can come over! Just left him in Christchurch. :) (http://podblack.com/2011/08/i-have-new-zealand/)

Great news Callan !

I can also report that Eduard is coming from South Africa, and Mantisdreamz would love to come from Canada, but she's not sure if her funds will let her. It's still undecided.

The whole thing is just an excuse for a meetup as far as I'm concerned. One long four day one occasionally punctuated with talks by interesting people.

One of the international crew, Natselrox from India, is having trouble buying his GAC pass and dinner ticket, as apparently Paypal doesn't accept payments from India. When he's trying to buy via his credit card, it's being routed through Paypal. Any suggestions ?

If he's still having trouble I'm happy to buy a ticket for him and he can sort me out on the day. He can contact me here or at RatSkep if he needs to.

He's been given a phone number to call by the lovely AFA folk, so he should be able to simply pay over the phone now.

Looks like Kiore and Eduard aren't coming after all.

He still hasn't bought a ticket so if he needs extra help let me know. He can do a Direct Deposit into our account and I can purchase the ticket for him.

Kiore is having trouble with arranging leave from his 3rd world cesspit and Eduard's national economy means that his currency is now available in perforated rolls of 500 with a firm but soft texture which is gentle on your behind.
