The thread was gone after the database restore.

I was talking with AronRa the other day and he indicated that he would like to be involved with the GAC but had not as yet been approached. I'm not sure how finalised the lineup is at this point, but AronRa is absolutely awesome.

AronRa is a well known atheist from Texas

Fighting against creationism in school science curricula
On Youtube - foundational falsehoods of creationism series
Conventions - speaker at the European Atheist convention (Dublin)
Co-host of the Magic Sandwich show.

Let me know who I can Pass Aron's contact details on to.

Hiya Djarm67, of course we know AronRa ;)

The lineup is chocka block atm, but we are organising some fringe events so couldn't hurt to pass his details along to myself or info@afa to have him on the books as it was.

As you can imagine, we want a diverse range of high quality speakers to put bums on seats and as much balance as we can get, it's impossible to get all the people we would love to have on board and actually fit them in. See how it goes.

Get him to come long and I'll even let him be a part of my fringe event. :D

Seriously, though, that cunt does fine work. I'd love to have a beer with him.

Davo,

I understand the AFA would like Aronra to be at the convention in some capacity, but the question is really a matter of funding. I have spoken to Aron and he is *very* keen to come to Melbourne for the convention, but being a poor atheist he cannot afford the flights, etc.

If the budget will not allow for flights & accommodation for Aron, I have another plan ready to go - essentially asking his subscriber base to donate a few dollars to get him over here. It should not be difficult to get 50,000 people to raise $3,000 to cover all the expenses.

Once I know if the AFA are able to help, I can determine my next move. Thanks mate :)
