They don't tiptoe around delicate religious feelings in Brazil. They get right to the point with their billboards! :D

*sigh* If only.

Looking at those billboards and imagining them in Australia is roughly the equivalent of hoping Amanda Tapping will have dinner with me! :)

Great material for the T-shirt business.

They are impressive, aren't they. I especially like “Faith gives no answers. It only impedes questions.”.

By far the best one is "If god exists, everything is permitted." It puts to rest the lie that religion gives us morality.

Love them, would def have this one as a t shirt and wear it proudly

“We are all atheists with the gods of others” — the captions read “Hindu myth,” “Egyptian myth,” and “Palestinian myth.”

Not sure about the twin towers one though...

I agree with one of the comments there, that you may as well have a billboard that has a strong message, because the theist get upset about any message no matter how subtle.

Considering their non-religious population % is about half of ours, and much less than some of the other [better] European countries, it's a shock to see those displayed. I wonder if they'll get enough funding to erect one next to the statue of Jesus in Rio :P

Agreed, but it also belies the idea that "without god anything is permissible" idea that gets touted around as an argument against atheism. It will probably take some time for the momentum to build there given the extent to which Christianity plays in the culture there...but good things take time i guess :)

Check out the *fun and hilarity* involved in getting some signs on buses (http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/showthread.php?t=28) - although ultimately successful (http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/showthread.php?t=3668&highlight=atheist+campaign).

Oh, and even how dimly a simple Public Service Announcement about correctly completing the recent Census (http://www.atheistfoundation.org.au/forums/showthread.php?t=10568&highlight=atheist+campaign) was viewed, in some quarters.

Methinks there'd also be cost and funding issues involved, also.
