What about me? I am much more exciting than those two.
Who are you? :-)
@crocoduck. I'll bring as much chocolate as you can eat. Much better quality than the stuff 2D can get.
Looking forward to meeting you too! :-)

Well, obviously whilst you are in Melbourne for the GAC, we must do the Collins Street Chocolate Walk. Starting at Spencer Street Station, we walk up to Haigs, onto Lindt, then Gamash, then Koko Black and another Haigs, finishing at the Chocolate Box. Bring your credit card.

I'm just imagining all these chocolate stores wondering why all these conference-shirted atheists are happily munching through their wares... should we have a rubber-chicken-on-a-stick to lead people to each event (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rod_Quantock)? :D

Mrs Bulldog has expressed a keen interest in this proposed in-depth study! :)
I will be there to supervise a prudent amount of expenditure, thus reserving some funds for the inevitable Triple By-pass operation that will be necessary for us both at the conclusion of this vital research. :)

If people are serious about a chocolate tour, we can discuss. Maybe a GAFF event?

Better still - get the chocolate shops to come to us! A nice big choccy stand right next to the book stand. Listening to Dawkins, whilst polishing off a box of Lindt balls - that's as close to heaven as we atheists will ever get.
Sounds like there could be a book in this topic...eg "An Atheist's Guide to Fine Chocolate" or "Chocolate for the Unbelievers".

We can make a video about it.
"I used to be a believer... now I'm onto 80% cocoa"
"Many people say to me, well, how can you have faith as an atheist? And I say, I do have faith, faith that I can cram as many Lindt balls into my mouth as I damn well like - excuse me, I have to do that now."
"Yes, my only god is chocolate. As an atheist, attending this convention, I've finally seen the light... and it is the almond-and-cream bar over there on the counter - I'm buying seven."

If people are truly interested in this as an idea, I am willing to put something together. Am thinking of Thursday afternoon/Friday morning. Am happy to incorporate photos, video confessions and tributes, and interpretative dance into the event.
Any thoughts? Anyone interested?
There are SIX chocolate shops along Collins Street alone... Just saying.

Now I wish I was coming down on Thursday. Wonder how much to change flights?

God damn you all to hell!! (That would probably carry more weight if I believed in god, hell, or damning, I suppose...)
Just the year I decide to give up chocolate.
Oh well, I might just go with you all...just to inhale the scent of it... :)

Well, since interpretive dance has been dragged kicking and screaming (albeit fantastically artistically) into the discussion, I will say that I could be interested in this :D

I'm a definite maybe, I just haven't booked my flight yet. :) I would have to come a couple of days earlier but was considering that possibility anyway. I'm waiting to hear about the call for volunteers and how early you would need to come for training and whether it was feasible for inter-staters.

I'm up for either Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. See if PZ wants to come too? Or maybe some of the other speakers? I bet Eugenie and her husband like chocolate! :)

Can someone please give PZ a hug for me? He may not like hugs from strangers so if I give one through one of you who know him, he may be a little more receptive. Cheers :)

there is also the lindt chocolate cafe on chapel street in the jam factory and the chocolate factory on church street.
This OVERLOAD of chocolate goodness sounds great especially the idea of a chocolate stand outside of the convention hall.
i just dont want to be buzzing on a chocolate high throughout the talks, but knowing me i will be munching on chocolate throughout the convention. :D
